Ingredients

100 g of GALLO basic wheat flour

80 g of sugar

100 g of ground almonds

1 small teaspoon of ground cinnamon

180 g of butter, at room temperature

4 golden apples, sliced in thin segments

1 lemon, juiced in ½ a litre of water

A dash of ground cinnamon

2 tablespoons of sugar (optional)

Preparation

Step 1

For the crumble: In a bowl mix and knead all the ingredients (do not melt the butter) until you get a smooth dough.

Step 2

Make a fine cylinder and place it in the fridge. Use it when very cold.

Step 3

For the apple cake: Soak the apple slices in water with lemon so they do not go brown.

Step 4

Remove the apple slices, dry them and place them at the bottom of the oven-safe mould. When placed, sprinkle cinnamon on top (and sugar, optional).

Step 5

Preheat oven to 170ºC.

Step 6

With a thick grate, grate the cold crumble over the apples.

Step 7

Place in the heated oven for 25 minutes or until golden.
